Local residents are renewing their appeal for the restoration of services at Monaghan Hospital following the death of an elderly heart attack victim earlier this week.

Reports this morning said the 72-year-old man died after being taken 30 miles by ambulance to Cavan General Hospital on Tuesday night, despite living just 500 yards from the Monaghan facility.
