CORI: Budget must improve conditions for marginalised
The Conference of Religious in Ireland has said it will be the first to criticise the upcoming Budget if it fails to improve the conditions of those living on the margins.
CORI has met with several ministers since its spokesperson Sean Healy addressed the Fianna Fáil party at Inchydoney in the wake of the June elections.
A delegation met with Social Affairs Minister Seamus Brennan today.
Fr Healy says having the Government's ear over the past few months counts for little on its own, and that he is waiting until Budget day on December 1 to see if the meetings have had any impact.
