A 43-year-old man was shot dead outside a farmhouse in Mayo, gardaí said tonight.

A 43-year-old man was shot dead outside a farmhouse in Mayo, gardaí said tonight.

The man was challenged when he attempted to break into the property in Cross along with another 18-year-old man at around 2.20pm.
