Spurned Irish musicians protest at opera festival opening

Irish musicians are to protest outside the opening event of the Wexford Opera Festival tonight.

For the fourth year running, no Irish musician will be taking part, as organisers look abroad in a bid to keep costs down.

Greg Boland from the Musicians Union of Ireland says hiring musicians from Eastern Europe is unfair on our homegrown talent who have to cope with a higher cost of living.
