NYCI calls for more investment in budget

The National Youth Council is calling on the Minister for Finance, Brian Cowen, not to cut taxes in the next budget, and instead invest money in youth services.

The group says that with the solid state of the public finances, there's no excuse for the Government to ignore key youth issues.

Assistant Director at the NYCI Donall Geoghan,says Minister Cowen has an opportunity to prove that the newly-reshuffled cabinet means change, and that he should look at the long-term benefits of offering young people the best start in life.
