Pensioner shaken after Antrim robbery

A 71-year-old woman has been left bruised and shaken after a robbery at her Co Antrim home.

A 71-year-old woman has been left bruised and shaken after a robbery at her Co Antrim home.

The pensioner had gone out the back door of her house, in the Carnmoney area, when a masked man climbed out of nearby bushes and grabbed her.

During the incident, which happened at about 9pm last night, the thief forced her inside the house and threatened her with a screwdriver.

He escaped with two of her handbags which contained a small sum of money and some personal documents.

The woman suffered bruising to her left arm.

The police have appealed for anyone with information to contact them.
