Campaign launched to remind children of building site dangers
The Construction Industry Federation (CIF) and the Irish National Teachers Organisation (INTO) have launched a campaign to remind primary school children of the dangers of playing on building sites.
Five children have died while playing on such sites in the past four years.
Speaking at the launch of the campaign today, CIF spokesman Liam Kelleher said children had a natural curiosity about building sites, but safety had to be a priority.
INTO president Austin Corcoran also said the message was particularly important at this time of year as children often visited sites and old factories looking for bonfire material.
