The Vintners Federation of Ireland has claimed some publicans are being forced to take up part-time jobs due to falling incomes.

The VFI has claimed that the pub trade has suffered a 25-30% drop in business in recent months, mainly due to the workplace smoking ban. The VFI met in Athlone yesterday to discuss the situation.
