Workers' Party brands Cabinet 'asset strippers'

The Workers’ Party tonight claimed the cabinet reshuffle represents a "lurch to the right" by the Government.

Workers’ Party Waterford Councillor John Halligan said that the reconstructed cabinet was devoid of imagination and bereft of ability. It was a cabinet of asset strippers, Cllr Halligan said.

"This is a reshuffle too far and is a reaffirmation of this government’s right-wing cutback credentials.

"It is a grim prospect for working class people to have this cabinet in charge for the next two years," said Cllr Halligan.
