Justice Minister Michael McDowell is reportedly planning to launch a crackdown on drug use in Irish prisons early next year.

Reports this morning said Mr McDowell told a conference last night that mandatory drug-testing, addiction counselling and treatment and other measures to prevent drug use in prisons would be introduced from early next year.
