A Greek airliner that was forced to divert to Shannon Airport yesterday following a bomb scare has resumed its journey to New York.

The Airbus 340, which was carrying 295 passengers and 12 crew, was cleared to take off in the early hours of this morning after a thorough search found nothing suspicious on board.
