LUAS tram collides with car in Smithfield area of Dublin

The launch of the second LUAS line in Dublin this morning was marred by a collision between a tram and a car in the Smithfield area of the city.

The tram was empty at the time as it was involved in testing on the Red Line between Tallaght and Connolly Station, which was officially opened this morning by the Taoiseach Bertie Ahern and Transport Minister Seamus Brennan.
