Thousands of commuters in parts of south and west Dublin have been left stranded this morning due to an unofficial strike by Dublin Bus drivers.

The industrial action has affected all services operating out of the Ringsend depot.

Buses serving Rathmines, Terenure, Templeogue and Tallaght are all cancelled because of the action.

Officials from the National Bus and Railworkers Union are trying to convene a meeting this morning with Dublin Bus management to discuss issues behind the unofficial action.

The union said the unofficial strike was related to the company’s decision to deny time off to a driver who was distressed after an incident on board his vehicle in the Tallaght area last Friday.
