Alert disrupts Dublin-Belfast rail service

A security alert has disrupted rail services between Dublin and Belfast today. The rail line between Newry and Belfast has been closed while police investigate reports of a suspicious object near Station Road in Lisburn.

A security alert has disrupted rail services between Dublin and Belfast today.

The rail line between Newry and Belfast has been closed while police investigate reports of a suspicious object near Station Road in Lisburn.

As a result, passengers on the inter-city Enterprise Service are being transferred by bus between Newry and Belfast.

The PSNI is also examining reports of suspicious devices close to the railway line at Sidham Halt in east Belfast and at a house in Antrim. Searches are continuing at all three locations.
