GOAL hopes pride in the shirt can raise €750,000
Irish aid agency GOAL is hoping to raise €750,000 from its second annual Jersey Day, which takes place in schools and workplaces throughout the country today.
Pupils and employees have been asked to wear the jersey of their favourite team as part of the fund-raising initiative.
GOAL said the money raised this year would be used to help ease the suffering of black Africans who have been expelled from their land in the Darfur region of Sudan by pro-government Arab militias.
