Gunmen shoot sleeping man in Co Dublin

A 20-year-old man is recovering this morning after being shot in the knee in the Clonsilla area of west Dublin.

The man was asleep in a house at Whitechapel Lawn when two men broke in, went upstairs to his bedroom and shot him in the knee.

The incident happened at around 4.20am. The injured man was taken to hospital in Blanchardstown. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
