Half of Irish security firms 'have no quality standards'
More than half of Irish security firms have no quality standards, according to a survey commissioned by the Irish Security Industry Association.
The association said 68 security firms were questioned as part of the survey and 53% of respondents said they had no quality standards, such as IS999, ISO or SGS Qualicert.
Seventy-five per cent of respondents also said they believed the security industry was poorly regulated compared to other sectors.
The ISIA said the survey cleared showed the need for regulation in the security industry to imrpove standards and quality.
