New junior minister needed for North West - SIPTU

SIPTU is calling for the cabinet reshuffle to include the appointment of a new junior minister with responsibility for employment in the North West.

It comes after the announcement from Fruit of the Loom that it is to wind down its operations in Donegal and Derry with the loss of over 600 jobs.

SIPTU general secretary Jack O'Connor said Donegal is now an employment blackspot that needs radical initiatives.
