Unemployed 'not gaining from Sustaining Progress deal’

The Irish National Organisation for the Unemployed (INOU) has claimed that the long-term unemployed are not gaining from the Sustaining Progress agreement.

The Irish National Organisation for the Unemployed (INOU) has claimed that the long-term unemployed are not gaining from the Sustaining Progress agreement.

The organisation said today that the social partnership agreement had produced nothing concrete in the area of adult education, which is regarded a major factor in combating long-term unemployment.

It also said it wanted to see pro-active government task forces established to boost job creation in unemployment black-spots.
