Ireland has reportedly fallen eight places in an Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) league of education spending in 27 European countries.

Reports this morning said the percentage of Gross National Product spent on education in Ireland fell from 6.1% in 1995 to 5.1% in 2001.
