Ireland’s population has risen to its highest level since 1871, according to estimates published today by the Central Statistics Office.

Ireland’s population has risen to its highest level since 1871, according to estimates published today by the Central Statistics Office.

The CSO said Ireland’s estimated population in April of this year was 4.04 million, an increase of 1.6% on the estimate for the same month last year.
