Staff reject Abbey plan to lay off one-third of workforce

Staff at the Abbey Theatre have reportedly rejected the company’s plan to lay off around 30 workers as part of a restructuring plan.

Reports this morning said the staff, who are members of the SIPTU, had asked the Abbey to withdraw the plan and to negotiate a new one in partnership with the workforce.
