Research: State gets 45% of cost of new house

Independent research commissioned by the construction industry has claimed that 45% of the price of a new house goes to the State in taxes.

The Housing Director of the Construction Industry Federation, Hubert Fitzpatrick, today said that if the Government was concerned about the level of house prices, it should look closer to home.
