Live Register figures down 1.7%

The number of people on the Live Register fell by 1.7% last month, according to figures released today by the Central Statistics Office.

The CSO said the actual number of people signing on fell by 1,685 (0.9%) in August, but when seasonal factors were taken into account, the decrease was put at 2,800.
