30 people to be let go at Abbey Theatre

The Abbey Theatre has confirmed that it is to lay off a third of its staff between now and the end of 2005, due to financial difficulties.

Thirty people are to be let go under the plan, many of whom are on fixed-term contracts that will not now be renewed.
