Man arrested in connection with murder of Waterford woman

Gardaí in Co Wexford have arrested a man in connection with the murder of a 54-year-old woman in Waterford this week.

The man was arrested in Rosslare today and has been taken to Tramore for questioning.

Mary Walsh’s body was found in the boot of her car on Cathal Brugha Street at around lunchtime yesterday.

She had been reported missing on Monday and is believed to have suffered injuries to her face and neck.

Ms Walsh was apparently carrying €10,000 in cash at the time of her disappearance. She was due to lodge the money in a bank on behalf of the insurance company she worked for.
