Shortage of sports facilities 'contributing to obesity'
The National Parents Council (Primary) has reportedly warned that a shortage of sports facilities in primary schools is contributing to a fitness crisis amongst young people.
Reports this morning said more than half of all primary schools in some counties did not have a PE hall and could only organise physical exercise in dry weather.
The National Parents Council believes this is contributing to obesity, lack of fitness and increasing rates of diabetes among teenagers.
It has called on the Government to invest more money to ensure that sports facilities in primary schools are improved.
