Housing organisation Threshold has warned students looking for accommodation to beware of rogue landlords who let sub-standard property.

Housing organisation Threshold has warned students looking for accommodation to beware of rogue landlords who let sub-standard property.

The organisation said students should never agree to rent a property before viewing it.

Meanwhile, the Union of Students in Ireland has advised students to establish details of their rent, deposit and lease as soon as they agree to lease accommodation.

It said students should also ensure they have a contact number and address for their landlord.
