Labour Party TD Joe Costello has called on Aer Lingus management to rethink its plans to transform the airline into a Ryanair-style no-frills operator.

“I think it’s the wrong way for a national airline,” he said. “Certainly, there’s scope for a sector of Aer Lingus to be into this no-frills route, but essentially that’s for a low-cost airline like Ryanair.
