Green Party seeks removal of controversial EPA director
The Green Party has called for the removal of one of the directors of the Environmental Protection Agency due to her previous job with a waste incineration firm.
The party claimed Laura Burke’s role in the EPA was untenable given the fact that her previous job was a project manager with Indaver Ireland.
The company is currently at the centre of a stand-off with local residents over its plans to build a controversial toxic waste incinerator in the Ringaskiddy area of Cork.
It is also involved in another incinerator project in Carranstown, Co Meath.
