Soldiers annoyed at Kilkenny request
The body representing Irish soldiers has expressed annoyance at requests that its members participate in a local festival in Co Kilkenny this week.
Troops from the area have had their leave curtailed so they can take part in the event at Kilkenny Castle on Thursday.
The event is a commemoration of a review of British soldiers by the King’s Lord Lieutenant almost 300 years ago.
PDFORRA said its members were already overburdened and could not meet all such requests from local communities.
