Union hopeful of resolution in Brinks Allied dispute

Trade Union SIPTU has said that it is hopeful of some settlement being reached in the Brinks Allied dispute in Labour Court recommendations to be issued later today.

The union has deferred strike action, which was due to begin this morning, to allow both sides to consider the court's proposals.

The union's security services branch secretary, Kevin McMahon, said that he hopes the court's recommendation will be one which the union can accept, and avoid a continuation of the dispute.
