Unions and management to discuss Dairygold lay-offs
Unions representing workers at Dairygold are due to meet the company’s management today to discuss yesterday’s announcement of 270 job losses.
Dairygold said the jobs would be shed as part of the closure of its pig-slaughtering plant in Mitchelstown, Co Cork, and its processing plant in Roscrea, Co Tipperary.
The Mitchelstown factory is due to close at the end of October and the Roscrea plant at the end of next month.
