SIPTU representatives from a number of Irish firms involved in the transportation of cash are meeting in Dublin today to discuss concerns about the safety of workers.

The meeting was prompted by a spate of armed robberies of cash transit vans so far this year. The safety of security van workers has been catapulted into the public arena in recent days by the ongoing dispute over the introduction of new vans and procedures by Brinks Allied.
