Live Register numbers increase in July

The number of people on the Live Register increased by 2,900 last month, according to figures released today by the Central Statistics Office.

The CSO said the total numbers claiming unemployment assistance increased by more than 8,500 in July, but when seasonal factors were taken into account, the increase fell to 2,900.
