Council ‘approves huge new shopping centre in Dundalk’

Dundalk Town Council has "resolved to grant permission” for a huge new shopping centre in the town, according to the companies behind the project.

The proposed €60m Ballymac Shopping Outlet will comprise 80 retail units and 1,240 car-parking spaces, as well as other facilities.

The firms behind the planned development have said it will create 1,000 jobs and bring considerable investment to the area. They said the centre, if approved, would be Ireland’s largest so-called “factory outlet”.
