Brinks management reject Labour Court invitation

Management at the Brinks Allied security firm have rejected an invitation to Labour Court talks aimed at resolving the dispute over the introduction of new security procedures.

The talks were proposed following the workers’ rejection of plans drawn up during negotiations at the Labour Relations Commission earlier this week.

The workers believe new security vans and procedures, being introduced in an effort to combat a spate of armed raids, would jeopardise their health and safety.

The Irish Payment Services Organisation has warned 80 more bank ATMs in the east of the country could run out of cash if the dispute is not resolved quickly.

Around 160 non-branch ATMs are already out of service due to the stand-off, which began last Friday.
