FBI offer help catching Irishman's killers

The FBI is believed to have offered help tracking down the gunmen who murdered a 59-year-old Irishman in Saudi Arabia this week.

Anthony Higgins, from the Mervue area of Galway, was shot dead by two gunmen as he sat at his desk in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, on Tuesday evening.

The motive for the attack is unclear. Some reports claimed Islamic militants were the prime suspects, but others suggested it appeared to be the work of common criminals.

Mr Higgins, a civil engineer, had worked for a Saudi construction company for many years.
