Man critical after Belfast attack

A man is in a critical condition in a Belfast hospital after he was found unconscious in the city centre.

The man was found lying in a small park near the junction of High Street and Victoria Street shortly before 6pm yesterday.

At this stage it is not clear what happened. However police said they had made one arrest and were questioning a man about the discovery.

The area was busy as shoppers and office workers were returning from work.

The PSNI appealed for anyone who may have seen something suspicious to help their investigation.
