Achill fisherman found, Cavan search resumes

A fisherman who went missing off Dugort, on Achill Island was found late last night.

The local lifeboat had been searching for the man. It is believed the man was returning to shore when he was found.

Meanwhile, the search for a man who fell overboard his fishing boat in Lough Sheelin in Co Cavan resumed today after it was called off for the night.

The man, believed to be in his 20s, had been out fishing with a friend and both stayed overnight on Friday night on an island on the lake.

They were returning to the shore when he fell overboard.

Local sub aqua clubs have been assisting gardaí with the search.
