SDLP complains to Ombudsman over Lurgan parade
The SDLP has lodged a formal complaint with the North’s Police Ombudsman over the policing of a loyalist parade in Lurgan, Co Armagh, on July13.
The PSNI overturned a Parades Commission ruling and allowed the march to proceed along a disputed route.
The police said they took the decision because a car was blocking the route approved by the commission.
The car’s owner was apparently seen joining the loyalist marchers.
The SDLP has described the PSNI decision as "outrageous and totally unacceptable" and has accused the police of failing to enforce the Parades Commission’s legal ruling.
