PSNI investigating death in Derry housing estate

Police in the North are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man whose body was found in the Galliagh housing estate yesterday evening.

The 49-year-old man’s body was found in a house on the estate by an ambulance crew.

He is believed to have sustained head injuries.

The dead man’s 42-year-old wife, whom he married just a few weeks ago, is currently being questioned by police in an effort to determine how he died.

The man is originally from Newtowncunningham in Co Donegal, but moved to Derry two years ago.
