SIPTU to ballot Aer Lingus workers on action

SIPTU has decided to ballot its members at Aer Lingus about possible industrial action to prevent the lay-off of 1,300 workers.

The airline’s management is planning to shed the jobs in an effort to reduce its costs and help it compete with Ryanair.
