Aquaculture projects get NDP funding

Junior Marine Minister John Browne has announced grant aid totalling €10,053,850 for aquaculture projects under the aquaculture measure of the National Development Plan (NDP) 2000-2006.

Junior Marine Minister John Browne has announced grant aid totalling €10,053,850 for aquaculture projects under the aquaculture measure of the National Development Plan (NDP) 2000-2006.

The funding will underpin a total spend of €26,236,755 in the aquaculture industry during the period of the Programme.

The Minister of State said, “This grant aid is part of the total package of €31.74m which has been allocated to support the development of the Irish aquaculture industry.

"The impact of this funding will have a huge positive effect in these areas both economically and socially.“

There are 27 projects in total.
