Unions vow to oppose compulsory Aer Lingus job cuts

Trade unions representing Aer Lingus workers have vowed to fight any attempt to lay off staff in order to boost the airline’s profits.

A business plan calling for 1,300 job cuts has been drawn up by senior management and is due to be presented to the Aer Lingus board today.
