Car crash probe man released

Gardaí questioning a man in relation to a fatal road accident in south County Dublin yesterday say he has been released from custody.

The two-car collision happened in the Stepaside area in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The driver killed in the crash has been named as 71-year-old Gordon Geary of Orwell Road in Rathgar, Dublin.

Shortly beforehand in a nearby area, two female pedestrians were injured in a hit and run incident. It is believed now that the Gardaí may be linking the two incidents.
