Man arrested in Britain in relation to four-year-old NI murder

British police have arrested a 35-year-old man in connection with the murder of another man in Co Down four years ago.

The man, who is from Downpatrick, was arrested at a flat in Staines today during a joint operation between the PSNI and local police.

He is expected to be returned to the North for questioning about the murder of 38-year-old Patrick Crane in March 2000.

Mr Crane was stabbed to death in the grounds of St Colmcille’s Primary School in Downpatrick.
