Gardaí have identified the body of the man discovered in the Glen of the Downs in Co Wicklow last week.

He was Arunas Gelzinis, aged 42, from Lithuania. He is believed to have stayed in Dungannon and Portadown while working in Craigavon in the North.

On June 21, he took the train from Portadown to Dublin and was intending to travel home to Lithuania.

The last sighting of him was in the GPO in O'Connell Street at 10.30am. His body was found in a stream in a wooded area of the Glen of the Downs on July 13.

Gardaí are now appealing for any information on his movements in the time between the last sighting and the discovery of the body.

In particular, they are hoping the Lithuanian community in Ireland who might of contacted him during those dates will come forward.

Motorists driving through the Glen who noticed anything suspicious are asked to come forward.

Gardaí also want to recover a large dark hold-all bag which he had in his possession at the time of the last sighting.
