Witness claims accused admitted to killing teenager, court hears

The mother of a 14-year-old Laois teenager who was allegedly hammered to death over a mobile phone today told the Central Criminal Court that she rang her son’s phone repeatedly on the night he died.

The friend of a 16-year-old who is accused of hammering to death a 14-year-old Laois boy has told the Central Criminal Court that the accused told him on the night in question he had killed the victim.

The man told the jury that he returned from where he had been working at 8.30pm on the night in question.
