Belfast shooting to be treated as attempted murder
The PSNI are treating as attempted murder the shooting of a man in north Belfast.
The incident happened outside a house in Glengormley earlier today when the victim was approached by a car carrying four men.
The father of two suffered hand and leg injuries as he fled from his assailants. His boxer dog was shot dead in the attack.
The victim's partner was chased by one of the attackers carrying a hammer, but escaped uninjured.
The car was later found burned out in Ardoyne.
Local SDLP councillor, Noreen McClelland, condemned the attack and said that these type of attacks had to end.
